Problems, Solutions and Innovations in Dental Materials

It is with great pleasure we extend an invitation for you to participate in the 24th European Dental Materials Conference: Problems, Solutions and Innovations in Dental Materials, to be held at Barts and the London, School of Dentistry, London, UK from 31st August -1st September 2017.

For the first time we will be providing Postgraduate student training in a workshop, “How to write a scientific paper for publication”. This will take place on the 30th August 2017 under the guidance of prestigious Journal Editors to enhance personel development. The student day will also include:

Introduction to To Presentation/Voice Skills by Joseph Quinn (http://www.influencingnow.com/joseph-p-quinn).

Theme of the Conference

Problems, Solutions and Innovations in Dental Materials

The current problems with dental materials will be discussed and speakers will present research showing solutions and innovations in topics such as bioactive glasses, glass-ceramics, polymer/composites, and cutting-edge research techniques. This work will include real clinical outcomes in implantology, restorative and regenerative dentistry and use of new analytical techniques. The conference brings together around 200 delegates from more than 25 nations, comprising leading clinicians, material scientists, engineers and technicians from both academia and industry. This conference provides a huge opportunity to interact and network with this diverse group of researchers and experts.

 Keynote Speakers Include:

Professor David Watts

(Biomaterials Science, Head of research group: Adhesive Biomaterials & Biomechanics School of Dentistry, University of Manchester, UK).

Professor Robert Hill

(Professor of Physical Sciences in relation to Dentistry, Barts and the London School of Dentistry, UK).

Dr Gary Fleming

(Head of the Materials Science Unit, School of Dental Sciences, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland).

Professor Delia Brauer

(Head Structure Property-Relationship in glasses group, Otto-Schott-Institute, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany).

Professor Owen Addison

(Chair Biomedical Materials Science group/Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, School of Dentistry, University of Birmingham).

Professor Anne Young

Professor of Biomaterials& Tissue Eng., UCL Eastman Dental Institute, UK.

Professor Dr Martin Rosentritt

Department of Prosthodontics, University Hospital Regensburg.

The biannual European Dental Materials Conference has been hugely popular amongst academia and industry for many years, with internationally renowned speakers and up and coming scientists and clinicians. Our most recent successful meetings were in Cork (2005), Leeds (2007), Manchester (2009), Turku (2011), Birmingham (2013) and Nuremberg (2015).

We have put together a scientific program which will show case new and innovative research.
